GAINESVILLE, Fla – Ovation Construction was named to the University of Florida’s 2021 Gator100 during a special virtual ceremony on April 23.
The Gator100 recognizes the world’s fastest-growing Gator businesses owned or led by UF alumni. Ernst & Young calculated each company’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the past three years to generate the ranking. Ovation Construction was ranked number 68 out of 100.
The Oviedo-based company specializes in high-profile municipal and educational projects in Central Florida and beyond. Ovation earned the distinction this year and in previous years by working closely with its distinguished clients — including the University of Central Florida and the Diocese of Orlando — to provide them with construction project management, on-site owner’s representation, safe building practices, and exceptional customer service.
“The Gator100 honors UF alumni from across the university who are founding and growing amazing companies around the country,” said Kent Fuchs, president of the University of Florida. “It’s an incredible affirmation of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of the Gator Nation.”
To qualify for the 2021 Gator100, companies must have been in business for five years or longer as of October 2020, and have verifiable annual revenues of $250,000 or more every year since 2017. Additionally, a UF alumnus or alumna must have met one of the following three leadership criteria:
- Owned 50 percent or more of the company from Jan. 1, 2017 through Oct. 30, 2020; or
- Served as company’s chief executive from Jan. 1, 2017 through Oct. 30, 2020; or
- Founded the company and been active as a member of the most senior management team from Jan. 1, 2017 through Oct. 30, 2020.
The awards, in their seventh year, are presented by the Alumni Association in order to increase honorees’ networks, raise the profiles of honored companies and inspire fellow Gators. View the full list of Gator100 honorees at gator100.ufl.edu.
