Ovation Construction, Inc., a full-service construction and design company, received yet another honor for its growth and success. The University of Florida has named Ovation Construction as a 2020 Gator100 company—earning the number twelve spot on the list. UF’s Gator100 recognizes the 100 fastest growing UF-alum-owned businesses in the world.
Ovation received the honor during the 2020 Gator100 Awards Dinner on Feb. 28, 2020 at UF’s Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The Gator100 is sponsored by the UF Alumni Association, in partnership with the UF Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center. Ernst & Young calculated each company’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the past three years to generate the ranking. Ovation was ranked twelve out of 100, with a CAGR of 95.0%.
Ovation earned the distinction this year and in previous years by working closely with its distinguished clients — including the University of Central Florida and the Diocese of Orlando — to provide them with construction project management, on-site owner’s representation, safe building practices, and exceptional customer service.
“The Gator100 honors UF alumni from across the university who are founding and growing amazing companies around the country,” said Kent Fuchs, president of the University of Florida. “It’s an incredible affirmation of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of the Gator Nation.”
To qualify for the 2020 Gator100, companies must have been in business for five years or longer as of 2020, and have verifiable annual revenues of $250,000 or more every year since 2015. Additionally, a UF alumnus or alumna must have met one of the following three leadership criteria:
- Owned 50 percent or more of the company from Jan. 1, 2015 through Sept. 28, 2018; or
- Served as company’s chief executive from Jan. 1, 2015 through Sept. 28, 2018; or
- Founded the company and been active as a member of the most senior management team from Jan. 1, 2015 through Sept. 28, 2018.
